Kīpuka is a competitive innovation grant program for Hawaiʻi youth with ideas for place-based solutions to local challenges
Background
In July 2021, I project managed the Kīpuka Innovation Competition for Hawaiʻi High School students.
Kīpuka is a competitive innovation grant program for Hawaiʻi youth with ideas for place-based solutions to local challenges, a collaboration between Purple Maiʻa Foundation and STEMworks.
This project included graphic design, web design in Webflow, project management, community management in Discord, virtual event production/workshop facilitation, submission judging, and fund allocation.
Results
A total of 11 Hawaiʻi-based high school teams applied. We were very excited to be able to fund three innovative student projects this year: The Laulima Project, Hawaiʻi Cat.io, and Hua Ulu ʻĀina.
